Larson-Danielson honored at annual historical society event
Larson-Danielson Construction Company was honored at the 2024 “Historians of the Year” Awards on Tuesday, September 17 for its many years of continuous service to the people of La Porte County and beyond.
The annual event is held by the La Porte County Historical Society. The program recognizes people and businesses for their work in helping to promote and preserve the history of La Porte County. Awards were presented by La Porte County Historian, Bruce Johnson.
Tim Larson, the company’s past president, and Brian Larson, the current president, attended the event and accepted the award on behalf of Larson-Danielson Construction.
The other honorees included individual “Historian of the Year” Dorothy Palmer, and the “Historian of the Past”, who was honored posthumously, George Wood Allen. Larson-Danielson was one of the two county businesses recognized along with Cutler Funeral Home.
Larson-Danielson was founded in La Porte in 1908 by brothers, Charles and Frank Larson, and Frank’s brother-in-law, Emil Danielson. The company is still family owned; Brian Larson is the great-great grandson of Frank Larson.
Currently in its fifth generation of ownership, Larson Danielson is recognized as one of the leading contractors in Indiana. The company has consistently operated from La Porte since it was founded 116 years ago.
