Since its inception in 1996, Facility Services Group has been devoted to our customers’ smaller projects. With our immediate access to the vast resources of Larson-Danielson Construction, we offer complete construction services for smaller projects with the quality and service of one of the largest general contractors in Northwest Indiana.

Recent Projects

CHS Orchestra Pit

Facility Services Group completed the demolition and renovation of the orchestra pit at Chesterton High School. Our workers removed 450 square feet of the existing concrete floor and hand-excavated 30 cubic yards of saturated clay by hand, then poured a new concrete floor. Gala Systems installed the state-of-the-art automated lift system.

Methodist Hospital Pavilion C

Facility Services Group completed a 2,800 square foot renovation of the lobby at Methodist Hospital‘s Pavilion C in Merrillville, IN. The project was completed in multiple phases to allow the medical offices to remain open during construction. The remodeled space features upgraded interiors and included the lobby, reception area, and men’s and women’s restrooms.

NiSource Corporate Headquarters

The Facility Services Group team completed multiple interior renovation projects at the NiSource Corporate Headquarters in Merrillville, IN. The team converted existing employee locker areas into collaboration rooms and a storage area. We also completed a cafeteria renovation that included upgrading wall coverings and flooring and adding a café coffee bar.

Purdue Northwest Bell Tower Base

The Facility Services Group was called upon to provide and install the concrete foundation for Purdue Northwest Bell Tower in Hammond, IN. The project included site excavation, concrete foundation, integrated steel anchors, integrated lighting components, and electrical rough-ins needed prior to concrete installation.

Stone Lake ADA Kayak Launch

Facility Services Group was the contractor for the City of La Porte Park and Recreation Department‘s Stone Lake accessible small watercraft launch. The ADA kayak launch is located at Soldier’s Memorial Park and was completed in 2021. The project included pouring the walkway, paving the parking area, and installing the launch.

Women’s Diagnostic Center

Facility Services Group completed the demolition and renovation of an existing medical suite at the Valparaiso Health Center of St. Mary Medical Center for Community Foundation of Northwest Indiana. The 3,500 square foot space was fully renovated to transform the suite into a women’s health center. The space includes imaging tools for preventative and diagnostic care.

Our Story

After spending more than 100 years devoted to general contracting, design/build, and construction management services, Larson-Danielson realized that industrial and commercial property managers had a need for a firm to handle their smaller construction projects and maintenance services. Thus, in 1996, we established Facility Services Group (FSG) to fill the needs of this niche market.

Specifically dedicated to our clients’ smaller projects, FSG has one advantage that no other company can claim: immediate access to the vast resources of Larson-Danielson Construction Company. FSG has completed thousands of projects for clients including Valparaiso University, NIPSCO, New York Blower, Northwest Health, Portage Township Schools, the City of La Porte, Horizon Bank, and many more. Our projects range from emergency, single-day repairs to office and healthcare facility renovations.
