At Larson-Danielson Construction, our relationship with the MAAC Foundation is more than a project partnership, it is a long-standing collaboration built on trust, shared goals, and a commitment to strengthening the community. Over the years, we have teamed up with Facet Architecture to work on multiple MAAC campus projects in Valparaiso, Indiana, helping create spaces that support first responder training and public safety.
The MAAC Foundation provides training for firefighters, emergency medical service professionals, police officers, and K9 teams. That mission makes the partnership especially meaningful for Larson-Danielson, a trusted commercial construction company with deep experience in design/build construction and commercial construction services.
MAAC Foundation Construction Projects
Larson-Danielson and Facet Architecture have completed several MAAC Foundation construction projects over the years, including the Apparatus Bay with additions, the SWAT building, the residential training village, and a training building. Each project has supported MAAC’s mission by creating functional, durable spaces for hands-on training.
The residential training village, completed in 2023, was a $2 million design/build project that included two tactical buildings built with Conex containers and wood framing on concrete foundations. The project also included a canopy pavilion and a garage classroom, adding flexible space for training sessions and group activities.
In 2019, we completed MAAC’s Tactical Building, another design/build project designed specifically for first responder training. The facility includes adaptable room configurations, movable wall systems, multiple access points, and space for vehicle-based scenarios, making it a valuable training resource for emergency personnel.
Supporting the MAAC HQ Expansion
Most recently, Facet Architecture designed – and Larson-Danielson is building – MAAC’s new headquarters and Kathryn Hall building. This expansion marks another important milestone for the MAAC Foundation as it continues to grow its campus and expand training opportunities for first responders across Northwest Indiana.
Working on multiple MAAC projects has given Larson-Danielson and the project team a strong sense of continuity. Through repeated collaboration with the MAAC Foundation, the team has developed a clear understanding of the organization’s needs, priorities, and long-term goals.
As MAAC has grown and expanded its operations, we have been able to apply lessons learned from earlier projects to each new phase of work. That shared experience has helped strengthen the relationship between our team and MAAC Foundation leadership.
A Shared Commitment to Public Safety
The partnership between Larson-Danielson and the MAAC Foundation is rooted in communication, trust, and a shared commitment to first responder training facilities. By working together across multiple projects, both organizations have helped create infrastructure that supports training, safety, and long-term community impact.
That ongoing collaboration reflects Larson-Danielson’s broader commitment to building spaces that serve a meaningful purpose. For more than a century, we have delivered commercial construction projects that strengthen communities, support organizations, and create lasting value.
