In an industry like construction, fraught with risk, reaching a significant safety milestone is really special. It shows that everyone is working together to keep each other safe and do quality work.

Larson-Danielson Construction is proud to announce that we have surpassed 100,000 hours without a single recordable incident. This noteworthy feat demonstrates our uncompromising dedication to maintaining and fostering a safe work environment across all our project sites.

At the heart of this achievement are our incredible employees. Their dedication to safety and attention have been essential to our success. We extend our gratitude to each team member for their hard work and commitment to supporting L-D’s safety culture. Their efforts ensure that safety is not just something we say we do, but a key component of our values and the way we work.

Work Safe. Stay Safe. Building a Culture of Care Together

Our journey to this milestone has been guided by the “Work Safe. Stay Safe.” philosophy. This employee-focused initiative was created to encourage an injury-free mindset. Our goal is to provide the safest possible workplace for everyone involved, including our subcontractors and clients. The program includes ongoing safety education, regular inspections and evaluations, which are all intended to make safety a shared effort. At Larson-Danielson, we prioritize accident and injury prevention. Everyone should go home at the end of the day in the same condition they came to work, healthy and injury-free.

The importance of these measures is stressed by data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). According to the BLS, over 1,000 people die each year from work-related injuries in the construction sector. That amounts to 1 in 5 deaths annually, the most out of any industry. This reality reinforces our resolve to lead with a safety-first mindset. Every level of our organization, from the president to project managers, foremen, and hourly employees, must embrace a team-first approach to safety.

Our safety program is designed to not only comply with industry standards but to create a culture where doing the right thing means protecting each other. Safety is everyone’s responsibility, and it requires effort and commitment from everyone. Our goal is for all employees to be motivated to “work safe and stay safe,” because safety is about more than just following rules – it’s about caring for one another.

Next Level Safety: Empowering Employees to Prioritize Health

In line with our commitment to enhancing safety and embracing our “Work Safe. Stay Safe.” philosophy, we launched the “Next Level Safety” initiative last year. This program targets the risks of strains and sprains, particularly as they affect an aging construction workforce. Our executives took the initiative to visit job sites, meeting directly with journeymen and apprentices to discuss the dangers of poor ergonomics. They ensured that our dedication to safety was clearly communicated from the top down. Thanks to these efforts, we’ve seen a noticeable reduction in injuries across the company, which certainly played a hand in our 100,000-hour safety milestone.

Empowering Teams, Advancing Safety in Every Operation

We are so excited to celebrate this milestone, and we invite you to share in our safety success. Help us spread the word about the importance of maintaining a safe working environment by sharing it with your friends and colleagues. Let’s keep setting the standard in our industry and leading by example, encouraging others to make safety a priority in their lives.

Here’s to many more milestones ahead, and to a future where safety remains at the forefront of everything we do. Together, let’s continue pushing boundaries, not just in construction excellence, but also in building a safe and supportive environment for everyone.
