We are pleased to announce the successful conclusion of Larson-Danielson Construction’s 2025 winter food drive, which wrapped up on Wednesday, March 19. Thanks to the collective efforts of our team and generous donors, we were able to provide vital support to five local food pantries, each receiving at least 405 items to help them significantly impact their communities.
“Our commitment to serving the communities where we live and work has been at the heart of our business since our founding,” said Brian Larson, President of Larson-Danielson. “We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to this food drive.”
Supporting Local Food Pantries
The pantries we supported were:
- Lake County: Tradewinds Community Pantry, Merrillville
- Porter County: Immanuel Lutheran Food Pantry, Valparaiso
- LaPorte County: The Pax Center, LaPorte
- St. Joseph County: St. Joe County Community Food Pantry, South Bend
- Jasper County: Good Samaritan Food Pantry, Rensselaer
Combatting Food Insecurity in our Communities
Jamie Buchanan, Executive Director of The Pax Center, expressed their gratitude, saying, “On behalf of The Pax Center, I want to extend our deepest gratitude to Larson-Danielson for making an immediate and profound impact on the lives of those facing food insecurity in La Porte County. The ripple effect of this kindness will extend far beyond the pantry shelves, touching lives and strengthening our community.”
Our donation to The Pax Center came at a crucial time. As Buchanan shared, a woman visiting the pantry was moved to tears by the amount of food she received, stating she hadn’t had that much in a long time. That same day, another family with nothing in their kitchen was able to receive the nourishment they desperately needed, thanks to donations like ours.
The Good Samaritan Food Pantry of Rensselaer (GSFP) was also deeply appreciative of our donation of 290 pounds of food. With their newly renovated and larger location, GSFP has expanded their service capacity, increasing the number of individuals served by 1,396 from 2023 to 2024.
Be the Change: Support the Fight Against Hunger
Food insecurity remains a pressing issue in Northern Indiana. In LaPorte County alone, the child food insecurity rate is 36.3% above the national average, underscoring the urgent need for community support.
At Larson-Danielson Construction, we remain committed to addressing the immediate needs of our communities. Through this food drive, we have provided crucial resources to those facing food insecurity, reinforcing our dedication to making a positive impact.
