Mishawaka Riverwalk Extension and Marvin’s Garden

Larson-Danielson served as the General Contractor for the extension of the Mishawaka Riverwalk between Race and Cedar Street. Our Concrete Division completed the installation of foundations, site concrete and slab on deck for the project, which included typical sidewalks and site furnishings along the river, along with an elevated walkway, modular and concrete retaining walls. Our Masonry Division was responsible for stone installation for the project’s monuments and pillars.

We were also responsible for Marvin’s Garden, an area where Mishawaka Riverwalk visitors can rest, relax, and reflect. The park features a bronze sculpture of the former head coach, paying homage to the scene from “Hoosiers” where Gene Hackman has his small-town players measure the court and rim height at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis to illustrate the dimensions are exactly the same as their tiny gym at home.
