South Bend City Hall Renovation

Larson-Danielson Construction provided general contracting services for the renovation of the new City of South Bend City Hall, a 55,000 sq. ft., six-story facility that unites city departments and public services under one roof.

This municipal construction project transformed the former South Bend Community School Corporation administration building into a modern, efficient government center designed to improve accessibility and service for residents. Renovations included comprehensive interior and exterior updates, installation of new mechanical systems, and enhanced ADA accessibility throughout the building. One of the project’s most complex challenges was the full reconstruction of the elevator shaft, which required the careful demolition and replacement of structural steel and masonry within the existing framework before the installation of a new elevator system.

By working closely with city officials to minimize disruption and maintain project timelines, Larson-Danielson delivered a state-of-the-art facility that reflects South Bend’s ongoing investment in community growth, efficiency, and public service.
