La Porte County Public Library Exchange
Larson-Danielson served as the general contractor on this 6,500 square foot renovation for the La Porte County Public Library, showcasing our expertise in public works construction. As a leading general contractor, we transformed a former telephone exchange building into a versatile multi-use facility. This space now supports a range of community activities, classes, and meetings. It includes specialized maker spaces for fiber arts, woodworking, digital fabrication, and 3-D printing, along with meeting rooms, collaboration areas, video and recording studios, storage, and library staff offices. Historical aspects of the building were preserved while the interior features exposed ductwork, polished concrete floors, and contemporary design aspects. Our commitment to quality ensures that this public works project meets the community’s diverse needs.
