On Friday, September 1, 2023, Larson-Danielson Construction volunteers arrived at Kesling Park to put their skills to work for the La Porte Parks and Recreation Department at Fort La Play Porte. Twelve volunteers each donated three hours of their time to the maintenance of one of La Porte’s premier parks.
The volunteers focused on the children’s playground, spreading fresh mulch and staining the perimeter fence. For some, including Larson-Danielson president, Brian Larson, the project brought back memories of the 2019 Fort La Play Porte rebuild project, when Larson-Danielson employees participated and the company donated tools.
Continuing a Tradition of Community Service
Four years after the rebuild, Fort La Play Porte needed maintenance to keep it in top shape for the community. At the same time, Larson-Danielson was looking for a meaningful service project. The timing was perfect for both the La Porte Parks Department and Larson-Danielson.
Larson-Danielson organizes multiple opportunities each year for employees to participate in company-sponsored service projects. These initiatives reflect the company’s commitment to being a great place to work while continuing its tradition of community involvement.
A History of Giving Back
Throughout Larson-Danielson’s long history, our employees have viewed their work as more than just construction. For most, it’s a community affair. Many facilities built by the company continue to serve local needs.
Beyond volunteering on projects like Fort La Play Porte, Larson-Danielson supports communities through board participation, monetary donations, and active involvement with organizations such as hospitals, banks, the YMCA, and the Red Cross. This long-standing commitment ensures that the company’s impact extends far beyond the buildings it constructs.
