Larson-Danielson Construction is proud to continue its support of Habitat for Humanity of La Porte County and the ongoing Tibma Project, which is bringing new affordable housing to La Porte’s east side.
On Wednesday, October 1, Larson-Danielson donated the time of an Operating Engineer as well as a lift to assist Habitat volunteers in placing roof trusses on the fourth of five homes under construction. Larson-Danielson has supported the Tibma Project for several years and offered similar contributions to the third home in 2024, which is now nearing completion.
From Bakery to Building Hope: The Tibma Project Story
The Tibma Project is a transformational effort to revitalize the former site of the historic Tibma Bakery. Once a community hub, the bakery was demolished in 2020, and the property was gifted by the City of La Porte to Habitat for Humanity of La Porte County. In partnership with the city, Habitat, and local businesses, the project is creating five new homes designed to fit the neighborhood’s historic character while providing safe, affordable housing for local families.
Volunteers are at the heart of the Tibma Project, and Habitat continues to welcome both skilled and unskilled helpers to join the effort. By working together, La Porte is building more than homes; it is building hope and opportunity.
Partnering to Raise Roofs and Hope
At Larson-Danielson, we believe construction is about more than buildings, it’s about strengthening communities. We’re grateful for the opportunity to support Habitat’s mission and to be part of a project that will positively impact families for generations.
Larson-Danielson is honored to play a role in this community effort and looks forward to seeing the Tibma Project reach completion.
