Accounting Associate Wanted

Because of this versatility, Larson-Danielson continues to experience growth and an immediate opening for an experienced, hard-working Accounting Associate.

The Accounting Associate plays a vital role in supporting the integrity and accuracy of financial data across all construction projects. This position is responsible for processing and coding vendor invoices, setting up and maintaining cost accounts, preparing job cost reports, and managing a variety of internal charges and adjustments. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in construction accounting, be highly detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple accounting tasks that support job cost tracking, reporting, and financial planning.

Reporting: This person will report to the Controller

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter, code, process, and route vendor and supplier invoices for approval through an automated accounts payable and document management system
  • Match invoices to corresponding packing slips and purchase orders
  • Monitor invoice status and ensure accuracy of final data before integration into the accounting system
  • Set up and maintain jobs and cost accounts in alignment with project and accounting requirements
  • Perform job setup and updates
  • Manage chargeable equipment setup and related accounting entries
  • Process job cost transfers, adjustments, and estimate adjustments to ensure proper cost alignment
  • Import estimate data from external systems into job cost modules
  • Prepare and distribute weekly job cost labor and equipment reports to project managers and leadership
  • Compile and issue monthly job cost reports for internal review and project forecasting

Desired Skills Experience and Personal Characteristics

  • Minimum of 2 years’ accounting experience, preferably in a construction or project-based environment
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and cost coding best practices
  • Experience handling confidential financial data with discretion and integrity
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Sage 300 Construction is preferred
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills
