La Porte Schools Transportation Center

Larson-Danielson served as the Construction Manager as Constructor for a state-of-the-art 18,871 square foot transportation building for the La Porte Community School Corporation. The building replaced an outdated facility, and combined maintenance and food service in one location. With ample parking for transportation staff, bus drivers, visitors, and maintenance vehicles, the site can house and maintain up to 72 buses. The transportation center features three service bays, a bus wash bay, and office suites, and various support spaces. It also includes a suite for drivers including a driver’s lounge / training area, and kitchenette / break room. The property also has a workshop for the School Corporation’s maintenance department and a truck storage area. In addition, the site is home to a sheltered parking facility, and a fueling island with a canopy.
