Seeking Registered Interior Designer

Facet Architecture is a growing commercial architecture firm doing business primarily in the Northwest Indiana market with an established client base in the area focused on increasing market share and geographic reach. Projects include diverse commercial and light industrial, renovation, and new construction projects. An immediate opening is available for the position of Registered Interior Designer within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

The Interior Designer’s primary responsibility will be to create and provide quality design project in a timely manner under supervision of Facet Architecture Director. In general, this person will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Performs design & drafting as well as managing small projects. This might include architectural site plans, programming, architectural schematic design through construction documents.
  • Meets with clients to determine project needs under supervision/ direction of the Facet Architecture Director.
  • Coordinates with Facet Architecture Director to assign work to design department draftsperson.
  • Follows library of standards, typical details, etc. for the design department to ensure that drafting is completed to Facet Architecture and project standards, scheduling, quality, and uniformity.
  • Makes certain that designs follow federal, state, and local codes/ standards. (ADA, IBC, Zoning Codes, etc.)
  • Review personally developed drawings before they are sent to the Facet Architecture Director to ensure and enforce the following company standards.
  • Attend project meetings during the construction phase, review submittals, and assist with RFI’s and Change Order requests.
  • Submit timesheet weekly with appropriate job costs.

Desired Skills Experience and Personal Characteristics

  • Education: Mandatory professional degree in Interior Design.
  • Preferred Certification with NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification).
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial interior design, AutoCAD, & Revit.
  • Demonstrate ability to produce commercial construction drawings & details.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of typical commercial construction systems and detailing.
  • Proficient in the use of Revit, AutoCAD, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and work independently, with minimal supervision.
